Shockwave Therapy

Therapeutic shockwaves were introduced as a medical treatment for elminating kidney stones without causing skin injury, over 20 years ago. Some of the side effects discovered while using this treatment, were both the bone healing and accelerated tissue healing results on the areas submitted to shockwave treatment. Today the use of radial shockwaves or Radial Pressure Waves (RPW) has been successfully extended to other therapeutic and wellness applications such as:

•point shoulder calcifications
•insertional tendinitis
•myfascisl trigger points
•muscle and connective tissue activation

Radial Pressure Waves is an excellent non-invasive treatment method with very few negative side effects, for indications that are normally very difficult to treat. For these indications we now know that our RPW is a treatment method that reduces pain as well as improves function and quality-of-life.

Shockwave Therapy utilizes shock waves or Radial Pressure Wave Therapy (RPWT), to treat chronic, painful conditions of the musculoskeletal system. Shock Wave Therapy can be used to treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions–particularly where major connective tissues are attached to bone.

Shockwave Therapy is frequently utilized to treat problem areas that involve major joints, such as :

Shoulders – Rotator Cuff
Elbows – Tennis or Golfer’s Elbow
Knees – Tendinitis

The one area of the body where Shockwave Therapy is most commonly used, is for the foot …..

– Plantar Fasciitis or Fasciosis (Strained Arch)
– Achilles Tendinitis
– Calcific Tendinitis
– Connective Tissue Pain and degeneration
– Muscle Pain and Injuries
– Joint Injuries
